Our Courses

The Beginners course is the first level of diplomas that you should attend in case you want to be able and legal to sail with a sailing boat up to 24 meters.  That course includes 5 practical lessons of 7 hours each (only weekends), a 2 day sailing trip in Saronic Gulf and a night sailing. (November courses are postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. New dates soon.)

For those who already have the beginner’s license they can attend the Advanced course to collect more experience and to be able to complete a sailing trip and manage all the difficulties that may appear.

You can have 7 daily lessons from 4 to 6 hours each time. The lessons will start and finish from Athens and we can make a flexible program according to your availability. This course is available from 3 to 6 persons.

The Club

Glyfada Sailing Club Okeanis “GSCO” is an association for entertainment, develpoment of the sporting spitir, the physical, moral and spiritual promotion of its members as well as the cultivation of sailing and not only. The offshore sailing school is under the direction of Makis Nikolaidis who is a famous sailing champion in Greece. He is a certified coach from the Ministry of Sports with more than 20 years of experience in coaching.

With a very modern teaching method by using videos and real examples in theoretical lessons GSCO becomes the most up to date Offshore Sailing School.

The Greek Offshore Sailing skipper license is acceptable in most of the countries worldwide and it can be used to skipper sailing yachts up to 24 meters.

The sailing yacht “NAFSIKA” is a Feeling 39ft of 2000 made in France and fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for sailing training courses but for cruising too.



The sailing yacht “RESPECT” is a 35ft American boat made from the famous Carroll Marine shipyard in 2000. Her mast and sails are made of carbon fiber and it is fully racing with a very high maximum speed.
